Controlling Balls?
How do people plan on collecting/storing balls?
We were thinking of using rollers or something to collect balls into a cargo holder |

Re: Controlling Balls?
Simply put: we will collect balls as fast as we score them. Our hopper will be our conveyor.

I was also looking for ideas from 2006, but you can't get many specs off of Youtube.

Re: Controlling Balls?
Our team is thinking about sucking them up with rollerst too, and then they get pulled into a conveyor belt system that pops them into the launching mechanism. It would be built to store a maximum of 3 including any that may be loaded in the launching mechanism. I think most teams will be using this type of collection system, but the launching mechanisms will vary.

Re: Controlling Balls?
Since there are so few of them you could actually possess at a time, we saw no reason to have an actual "storage unit". Instead, we just go from ground pickup to launcher. There's some more secrets with this, but that's team stuff. If you want to know, then you have to join the team. 256 is always accepting new members*!

Re: Controlling Balls?
That's what our team is thinking too. This robot may not end up being very tall at all.

Re: Controlling Balls?
Be careful, you're going to have to have a large trajectory if you're going to avoid defense.

Re: Controlling Balls?
Yeah, that's true. I guess it will probably need to be taller.
