Ball Bouncing

This youtube features the slot provided to return balls.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...iCbZLPRY#t=34s

I'm wondering, does anyone know if its possible to bounce it all the way over the barrier/bridge to the other side?

I think it might be possible since the guy in the video only shoots it fairly lightly. However I know how soft the ball is, is going to stop it from bouncing quite as much.

Could anyone try it perhaps? Possibly post a video on youtube, or at least report results? Thank you!

Re: Ball Bouncing

It's possible, and there's no rule against it, but like I said in another topic, it simply requires a large amount of brute force. Anything bouncy can bounce to any height with enough force

Did anyone else see the ball getting stuck underneath the bridge?

Yes, and that was to demonstrate that there is a ramp of polycarb underneath the bridge so that balls that end up under the bridge do not stay under the bridge.

We tested that today. We used a tote slightly higher than the bridge and made an inbounder's slot. It is possible to bounce the ball over the bridge but it's difficult. It will take a lot of practice to be consistent.

Re: Ball Bouncing

Bouncing the ball across the field (ramp or barrier) is certainly doable but you may want to start training your human player now to avoid penalties.

Re: Ball Bouncing

As per rule [G31], only Inbounders are allowed to touch the balls... what about a portable t-shirt cannon style launcher held by the Inbounder? That would get some serious velocity going through the feeder slot.

You may be on to something here. A ball cannon? Then again, even though no rules specifically outlaw an inbounder-controlled ball-cannon, I'm sure that the refs would enforce martial law and promptly take your ball cannon.
