Re: 2011 E09 Restore Key: Win Update not working

It sounds to me like your issue is unique from the issues others are having with the E09 USB keys.

My guess would be that your issue is related to the replacement hard drive. Images like the one provided by FIRST are designed to run on the exact same hardware.

I would try uninstalling any hard drive or storage drivers like Intel Storage Matrix Technology (I don't have access to our E09 right now or I'd be more specific). Reboot and try Windows Update again.
