Re: Windows 7 Pro Activation Key
Could the product keys being used be the same? I reimaged mine early in the day right after kick-off and it activated with no troubles. Microsoft may be getting confused with the mass of activation requests using the same product key.... mind you that i am merely speculating, and do not know anything at all about how FIRST uses the image keys........
I'll do some more research as i do not know how the KMS works either. |

Re: Windows 7 Pro Activation Key
If i remember correctly, KMS = Key Management Server and a corporation (FIRST) can host it to authenticate its clients (Us with the classmates) and after the kickoff, the mass influx of activation requests overloaded that server thus the 0x8007232B (DNS Error) Error.
Just speculation though, remembered most of that stuff after i got home. |

Just figured this out. Hope my technique works for others
After downloading the Classmate_Update.bat file from the FIRST site, control systems area do the following... 1) Make sure you are hardwired to the internet, so when the activation form comes up, there are no network impediments. 2) Right-click on the bat file above and "Run as Administrator". This is a funny with Windows 7, and may have been the secret in my case. 3) Wait a few seconds for a confirmation message to appear. 4) Reboot the classmate. 5) You will be challenged for activation, so do it online over the internet now. 6) In my case the error message WAS repeated, but the notes in the lower right of the screen above the tray saying invalid copy disappeared. Yeah! 7) On the next reboot, there was no challenge, and it seems the classmate was validated once again. Even better!! |

Re: Windows 7 Pro Activation Key
Is it possible for anyone to post a link of the Classmate_Update.bat file from the FIRST site?

Re: Windows 7 Pro Activation Key
Perhaps the 2011 Win 7 activation script will work. Its still working for installs from the 2011 2009 Classmate recovery key in last years kit based on my test today (our 2012 key doesn't work as per many others). I do see one problem from my install today: Windows update is not working

Re: Windows 7 Pro Activation Key
This thread was revived from last year. This year's Classmate Images have the activation key already embedded.

Re: Windows 7 Pro Activation Key
This thread was revived from a past season showing confusing a previous issue, with a current issue. The information contained here will not resolve the 2012 usb key issues.
