middle line in key

From looking at the pictures of the field for 2012, it looks like there is a line in the middle of the key. I cant find any documentation on this line though to make sure that it will be there at competition. Does anyone know anything about it? It looks like it might be a line between the two plates that create the key. Thanks!

Re: middle line in key

You are correct it is just the line between the two plates.

The key is actually two quarter circles velcroed by each other so thatis the line between them.

Re: middle line in key

Will the velcro between them always be black? I am hoping to follow this line with line followers. As long as there is some sort of difference between the velcro and the carpet around it I should be able to pick it up with the line followers im assuming.

The velcro is very likely to be black, but it is on the bottom of the HDPE to hold it to the carpet, and will almost certainly not be visible. The "line" between the two halves of the key is just a seam.

Re: middle line in key

Why would you want to line follow down the key?

You can start anywhere touching the key, under [G01], so you could just start at the close end of the key.
