Is editing of the Driver Station/Running a non-DS program allowed?

My team would like to know if teams are allowed to modify the Driver Station software in any way, shape or form.
Another question too- If at a competition, Would a team be able to run a program in addition to the Driver Station on the Driver user on the Classmate????
