Labview install problems

So I installed the new Labview on one of our developments laptops (Windows XP, FYI), and I have run into a couple problems. Firstly, whenever I open a project that I created with last year's version, I cannot load any of the FIRST VIs (motor controls, etc). Secondly, I am unable to locate any of the FIRST VIs in the usual place. Did they move, or is there somewhere I need to get them from? I first installed the new Labview without uninstalling the old one, and had these issues, so I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the new one on a system free of NI software, though the same issue persisted. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Thanks in advance!
