Re: Chassis Front End Design
We prototyped something similar with the kitbot with the plate made out of lexan, the plate sat a little higher than yours in relation to the wheel and had a 30 degree angle, it worked at very slow speeds successfully and calmly, only thing is you will need to do 8 wheel drive (to make it easy)

Re: Chassis Front End Design
What about a nylon block / strip?

Also, the drawing is not completely accurate. We actually have the entire wheel set a little farther back, so it is behind the lexan plate. |

Re: Chassis Front End Design
We tested a narrow base, this obviously helps, I'll try to get a video on Monday (our team doesn't meet Sundays)
EDIT: Also, our skid plate was curved rather than a straight angle, and was long enough so that it pulled the 6 inch wheel's center right at or little above the bump, thats the key Last edited by HammadB : 15-01-2012 at 03:24. |
