Netconsole Double Output

I've been running into a problem where all the I/O I get through NetConsole is doubled(ie. i type "reboot" and it displays "rreebboooott"). I have found that if you reboot the development machine and power-cycle the cRIO, it usually gets fixed. But that's kind of a pain. Does anyone know why this is happening or if there is a better solution?

Re: Netconsole Double Output

Many years ago, when we used telephone modems (there was no Internet yet) there was a setting, in the software which you used to talk to the modem, for "Echo" - some modems would echo the text you types back to you, some wouldn't.

In whatever application you are using for communication - NetConsole? - look for a setting to control echo, and set it to off.

Sorry I can't be more specific, I'm not familiar with all that, but being old sometimes has its advantages...

Re: Netconsole Double Output

Just want to mention we had this problem all of last year. My guess was that it might have something to do with having two NIC's in my laptop. Since the netconsole uses UPD broadcast (I think) I was thinking the packets could be being echoed by the other NIC even if only one was actually communicating with the robot..best i can describe my foggy theory.
