When I was younger, we celebrated my half birthday (June 25). I would get my birthday presents then, and Christmas presents on my birthday.
One year, we even did a "half birthday party" in the park. We cut everything in half: ate half hamburgers, on half plates, etc. My mom didn't cut the cups in half though, but that's only because she isn't an engineer and realized that you could cut them horizontally, rather then vertically. That was probably about 15 years ago, but it seems like every year, one of my friends who was there remembers it and comments on it.
Whether or not you use wheel weights, if you're running a wheel at several thousand RPM, you'd better have an effective containment system to protect the outside world in case something spontaneously disassembles itself. - Alan Anderson [more]
