Bricked Jaguar?

So the other day, myself and fellow programmers were trying to upgrade the firmware on our jaguars (The black ones) through the 2CAN web interface. Something happened, and it appears we have flashed the firmware without actually putting a new one on. Now we cannot get a response (i.e. no lights, fan, nothing).
We tried constructing a serial port adapter and using BDC-COMM-101 to fix it, but even through the serial connection, BDC-COMM could not see it. We're just about out of ideas. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Try flashing with the 2can again. There is bug in the 2can's latest firmware that fails on the first flash attempt. The jag is not bricked it is just stuck in bootloader. Version 2.21 firmware fixes this problem and should be up tomorrow.

Hey Josh, I have had the same problem on both black and tan jags with win7-64 bit. For me, in both cases with the 64 bit machine, I was able to re-index the jag but when I hit the flash button in webdash (even with 2CAN version 2.21) the light went out and it appears dead. I was able to flash the firmware on other jag with a 32 bit machine, but have not yet been able to restore the jags per Mike's comment. I'm not liking the newly discovered jaguar-stealth mode!

Make sure you have a 120 ohm termination Resistor to prevent reflections

I have the exact same problem. I've "bricked" two JAGS (One Black, One Tan) attempting to use 2CAN to flash the Jaguar(s) to the 101 firmware.

I tried flashing it a 2nd time, it also failed.

I have tried to "factory reset" the Black Jag without success.

I've switched over to using BDC-COMM with a USB to Serial Adapter for the time being.

I have also tried to "recover device" with BDC-COMM for the Black Jaguar, also without success.

Both these Jags simply appear to be bricked.

What is the EXACT message in the 2CAN webdash when you attempt to flash?

I wish I had documented that when it occurred, unfortunately I didn't.
So I can't honestly be 100% sure what it was.

My best memory was a "Timeout Waiting for BootLoader"
But that could have been on the 2nd attempt.

Are you wired or wireless when attempting to update? One jag on the Bus or many Jags on the Bus? Have you tried isolating the problem jag and then flashing it?

It was done wired, and it was done with 4 JAG's on the bus. It's very possible, the wiring of the CAN bus was faulty.

I bricked a Black one, then tried a Tan one.
Then I gave up and switched to BDC-COMM figuring it's either 2CAN or pilot error on my part(ME!). My USB-Serial has a CAN cable I made myself.

I was speaking with one of the students tonight (by phone) and he was running into CAN timeout issues on setup of working JAGs we had.
I had him recheck all the cables and the terminator, he did find one that was incorrectly made.

When I get some more time, I have one more spare TAN Jag, and I will retest the entire process and document it.
