Old cRIO not responding using 2012 code

Hello, we're using the old 8-Slot cRIO (9074). The cRIO has been reimaged to the 2012 image. When we try to deploy any sort of 2012 FRC code (using LabVIEW), it won't work - for example, Jaguars won't respond, we can't get image from the Axis Camera (model 206), etc.

We currently use the module no. 9403, we tried to connect it to every single slot in the cRIO and nothing responds. Is there any possible solution?

Re: Old cRIO not responding using 2012 code

Try running the cRIO Imaging tool, and examine the picture of the cRIO shown (you should see red/white/green bars). Because of the new 4 slot cRIO, some things had to be moved around, including what modules can be plugged in to where. If you see red in the picture on the imaging tool, it means it needs to be moved. Just hover over the slots and you'll see what type of module it'll allow to be plugged in to it.

Re: Old cRIO not responding using 2012 code

You might want to check your code. I don't know about LabVIEW, but in Java they changed the way you tell the software which module to use. Instead of specifying the slot in the cRIO, a module number is used. More information can be found in my post here.

Re: Old cRIO not responding using 2012 code

They moved the order of the modules this year due to the new 4-slot cRIO.

The new order for the 8-slot cRIO is:
  1. ANALOG
  2. DIGITAL
  3. SOLENOID
  4. EMPTY
  5. ANALOG 2
  6. DIGITAL 2
  7. SOLENOID 2
  8. EMPTY

Do you have power to the Digital Sidecar? Is the Robot Signal Light blinking as expected?

The Digital Sidecar should be connected by a 37-pin cable to a DIO module in slot 2 of the cRIO. What cable are you using? The ribbon cable that came in the Kit of Parts might have been assembled incorrectly; there are instructions here for checking and fixing it.

Did you reconfigure the camera to the proper address? The 2012 Dashboard program expects it to be at 10.te.am.11 instead of last year's 192.168.0.90.
