Cool Battery movement

So what are your thoughts on having a sliding battery box that can act as a counterweight for the robot? ie, you could use an accelerometer to measure tilt, and then use a powered slide system to counterbalance it to help prevent tipping.

My thoughts are that http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/search.php is your friend when finding out what other people's thoughts are on some topics. (I used the search term "moving battery".) I also think that if you can do it safely, it could be very interesting to watch the mechanism in operation.
