2 Cameras

Okay so our team wants to use two cameras on our robot. So we were wondering if that was legal. If so where can I find that information in the documentation.

Re: 2 Cameras

It seems like in the rules there's nothing saying you can't. I guess you could buy another ip camera, plug it into the router, and power it some way.

Re: 2 Cameras

We used 2 last year, not sure if the rules changed this year.

How did you power the second camera? To my team's understanding, we are only allowed one power distribution board.

Re: 2 Cameras

We almost did two cameras last year. I think we used another 12 volt to 5 volt converter and attached it to one of the side outlets.

You don't need another PD board to power two cameras.

The camera is rated to require 500ma at 5v (0.5a), at least the Axis 206 is.

The PD board 5v supply is rated to supply 3a, plenty for two cameras. The DSC also has a 5v 3a supply, so you could use that as well.

There is no rule requiring that the camera be powered by the 5v supply on the PD Board. There is also no rule dedicating the 5v supply to the camera only (as there is with the 12v and 24v regulated supplies).
