Thanks for posting this up. Also the videos on command base are a great surprise. I didn't know they were available, I'll be sharing them with my students as I'm sure they will help.

One thing we found as a hurdle with smart dashboard was the lack of documentation on configuring the dashboard to connect in to the project. Being completely new to SmartDashboard this year left for a lot of guessing and checking. (2011 versions of the SmartDashboard class on our machines helped to complicate the issue for us - 2012 appears to be smartdashboard.SmartDashboard?)
