Question, when they gave us our software, what was the point of getting character studio 3 when upon installing it it say's that it's not good for any other version but 3.1? should'ne we of gotten a version of character studion that goes with 3DS max 4.2? just a though...

If I'm wrong somebody correct me, but character studio is already on the studio max cd. But you have to register the version they gave you and use that information to register the version on the CD.

Yhea, i kinda came up with the sam conclusion, but it still makes no sense on sending it, they could of just gave you the serial numbers... well thanks anyways...

If you all have noticed. 3D Studio Max is version 4.0
The reason it is called 4.2 (the cd says that) is because
4.2 = version 4 of max and two plug-ins included.
4 = 3d studio max 4.0
.2 = character studio 3 and reactor.
just telling yall. the character studio and reactor cds you all recieved is just incase you want to install it later if you chose not too in the past. JUST A TIP GUYS!

I think your a little off wes. The reason it is called 4.2 is because it is the new update. 4.0 had cs and reactor.
What is included in 4.2 is as follows
: A new Cdilla license key. This will prevent you from using the old key generator to get a new registration code.
:This Service Pack includes an Intel® Performance Pack that can be optionally selected during installation to provide increased performance. For clarity, installation of this Service Pack WITH the Intel Performance Pack results in a product version of 4.2.6. Installation of the Service Pack WITHOUT the Intel Performance Pack results in a product version of 4.2.5.
