Question About the Distance in the Vision Processing example

Hello all,

I've read the NI white paper on Vision tracking, and I've been running the example included with LabVIEW. However, when we run our camera to track example targets on the wall, the distances are different.

My understanding is that the distance outputted is the distance from the camera lens to the wall...but the distances for the different targets vary, which makes me wonder if the distance d is actually the distance from the camera to the center of a rectangle.

Can anyone confirm what the distance outputted by this example is measuring?

Thanks!
