SmartDashboard - Excessive Memory Use
We're using the SmartDashboard this year, and have the camera feed widget as well as a few simple dials and formatted text fields.
For some reason, after running for a few minutes, the SmartDashboard's memory usage increases to over 300MB. Is anyone else encountering this problem? This is more than our poor Classmate can handle =(. |

Re: SmartDashboard - Excessive Memory Use
Trying to be helpful here, but I'm afraid I'll just sound vague, bear with me.
My team is programming the robot in Java as well, and we've had issues with image processing. Specifically, we believe there is a memory leak in the underlying JNI code. I'll ask tomorrow for more information about it, and if/how we overcame it. |

Re: SmartDashboard - Excessive Memory Use
I believe the latest version of WPIJavaCV (which you can grab from the subversion repository on FIRSTForge) fixes the memory leak issue.
