FIRST Team 935 Loader Test 2

Hello, CD! Last time we checked in we showed you our half built loader. I believe that other than fine tuning, this is the final design for the loader.

http://youtu.be/nlctfpCDQOw

The loader uses belts to snatch the balls in. The ball travels up a curved piece of metal until it is rising straight up, at which another track of belts grabs it and brings it up to a static state. A little kicker then pushes the ball into the soon-to-be-built shooter, which scores the goals. The kicker, when in its ON state, automatically dispenses the ball into the shooter, allowing for quick loading (FYI, this was an unintentional design component).

We wish luck to our competitors at Kansas City and Dallas West!

Very nice, i take it your reversing one side of the second stage of bands to keep the ball trapped at the top of your ramp? Can't wait to see you guys at Kansas City!

Re: FIRST Team 935 Loader Test 2

Looks good.

Many teams should take notice of the procedure show here. The mechanism is tested in many different configurations, even some that aren't meant to occur during competition. Then, the mechanism is tested many times in a row, for a near 2 minute period with humans not doing any of the "work" that the robot will do. Test all of your mechanisms like this and you will have a successful year.
