Rookie Team 3995 teaser #1

This is just a teaser photo of our track base.

It can pull a van.
(When fully assembled)

But does it go fast? Matches are only 2:15, and you're not allowed to pull field elements around.

It goes fast and it pushes hard.
We use tracks, the wheels are just delrin rollers.

Re: Rookie Team 3995 teaser #1

Pulling a van is actually quite easy for an FRC robot. I remember reading a post a while ago that went into detail about the math invovled.

Still a very nice looking drivetrain and great for a rookie team. Congrats.

It is more or less the same drive that's been used by a number of teams on the west coast since at least 2007.

Look for video of teams 997, 753, or 668 -- among others.

Is this one the same as the Outback tank drives from a couple years ago or is this one custom?

Either way, cool to see more good looking rookie bots.

Re: Rookie Team 3995 teaser #1

It is still cool to watch a fairly small robot pull a van. It's actually team 997 who has the video, but it's the same drivetrain modified to fit this years game.

And here is the shooter preview.

It is the Outback tank drive. My dad edited it for this year.
