3647 up and runnning

10inch pneumatic tires from skywaywheels and AM Toughbox Minis.

The last bit was caused when a bearing fell out of the gearbox, causing the small cluster to drop into the gearbox...

Shooter and the bridge lowering mechanism isn't attached in this video.

Re: 3647 up and runnning

Nice robot! The rollers are very sleek.

If I may ask, what is the total reduction on the motor driving the rollers? (gearbox and pulley). It looks like a 550 with a 16:1 gearbox, but I cant guesstimate the pulley sizes.

I asked because we have 550's with 4:1 gearboxes and plan to use them, but we are afraid of them being undertorqued. It seems like yours is working fine, so we may want to try that reduction out.

Our design called for banebot 550s with the 4:1 gearbox and an additional 2:1 reduction. We ended up having some issues with being undertorqued and have since switched to window motors. Our design had a belt system and compression plate combo.

Very nice robot 3647! Those wheels are awesome!

Re: 3647 up and runnning

Our design uses 2 550's with 4:1, so I was wondering if you were having trouble when using 2 motors geared together, or just 1?

Re: 3647 up and runnning

For the tower the gearboxes are 16:1 P60s with 550s then pulleys are 5inches [off mcmaster] to the PVC which is about 3inches in diameter. The original design called for 3inch pulleys for a 1:1 but a mistake with our McMaster order caused use to get 5 inch ones...

We have had no issue with toque; as you can see they fire up instantly.

Lots more photos in our blog linked my sig.
