Robot status light wire gauge

What's the appropriate way to wire up the robot status light? I'm thinking about pwm cables..

and what about the jumpers? What's the wire gauge and color requirements on that?

Re: Robot status light wire gauge

The rules give a pretty detailed description:

Quote:
[R57]
Robots shall use the diagnostic Robot Signal Light (RSL) provided in the KOP. It must be mounted on the Robot such that it is easily visible while standing three feet in front of the Robot.
The RSL must be connected to the “RSL” supply terminals on a Digital Sidecar

See the 2012 Robot Data Diagram on the KOP website and the item bulletin online here for connection details.

The Digitial Sidecar must be connected to a NI 9403 module in Slot 2 of the cRIO.
The RSL must be wired for “solid light” operation, by placing a jumper between the La and Lb terminals on the light per Figure 4‑9.

Figure 4-9 http://frc-manual.usfirst.org/upload/4.1.9-1.jpg

You can look at [R44] and [R45] for the appropriate wire gauges and colors.

A PWM cable is appropriate for the signal light. Clip off the male end and wire to the light. Use the red/black from the PWM cable, then use a jumper wire of the same size to connect La to Lb.
