Re: 30 lb Withholding? for rookies?
Yes if you carry in bumpers in instead of bagging and tagging them they count as part of that 30lb limit

Re: 30 lb Withholding? for rookies?
No problem. I don't mean to seem harsh with my comments but this is a poersonal pet peeve because most so many people think we still operate under this rule and cheat by bringing these types of parts in not included in their 30 lbs.

Re: 30 lb Withholding? for rookies?
Good point and well stated. I would only add that it limits parts that are going to be used on your robot.

Re: 30 lb Withholding? for rookies?
Yesterday team FRC1625 posted a relevant question to the Q&A. That question has been answered (emphasis mine):
Q. if hypothetically you have and assembly with cots (jags and motors) and it weighs 37 pounds and you weigh the cots to be 9 pounds so the net fabricated weight is 28pounds. do you have to take the cots parts off to bring it into competition? A. Teams may bring up to 30 pounds of Fabricated Items items to the competition. COTS parts are not relevant to the 30 lb allowance and may be brought in any number to the competition. However, per the definition of Fabricated Item, once any Component has been modified (including assembly to other COTS items) it is no longer a COTS item and is now a Fabricated Item. If the COTS items were removed from the larger assembly and otherwise unmodified, they would be considered COTS items. |
