Powering a 2nd Camera
Doe anyone know of any legal ways to do this. Based on the specs of the PD board, one should be able to run both cameras off of the 5v regulated output. Would this be against the rules?
Here is a related thread that has yet to be resolved: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...=1#post1134467 |

Re: Powering a 2nd Camera
I'm inspecting at a couple of regionals this year and I don't see a rule explicitly outlawing it. You would need to use a terminal strip possibly because normally only one wire can be in any one WAGO connector.
I'll let some of the more veteran inspectors comment as well but I don't see why this would be a illegal. |

Re: Powering a 2nd Camera
Can't you technically also get another 12VDC - 5VDC converter for the second cam?

Re: Powering a 2nd Camera
If you're using this method to power your camera, this is the wrong way to do so. The supplied converter is designed specifically for use with the DAP-1522, and as such has a output current to correspond with its specs. It would be unwise to run the camera off one that hasn't been checked to correspond to the camera's input power specs.

It appears to be a standard component http://www.current-logic.com/shop/in...products_id=15 and the specs show it capable of handling the load. This posting has more details on powering a 2nd camera. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2634 Last edited by devodl : 26-02-2012 at 11:03. |
