Building an Operator Interface

Our team was wondering what other teams have used in the past for their operator interface and would like some advice about which layouts work well. This year we would like to use the cypress board and have switches and indicators for the drivers. We are worried about powering LED's because the cypress board seems to have only two 20ma outputs and the rest are only 5ma which is not enough to power an LED. We would like to know what other teams have done in the past or if there was a way to make more high current outputs on the cypress board.
