Each team gets 12 matches? I'm kind of really excited about this whole robots thing now.

I believe that at each MAR event you are guaranteed 12 matches. Makes for short turnaround time, but a much better cost-playtime ratio

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Hatboro-Horsham FIRST Robotics District Competition

What's going on with the rankings and match results etc.? I keep looking on the FIRST website for the online stats, but none seem to be updated at all. On FRC Spyder/ Tracker 2012, nothing has been updated which I would assume is because nothing on the event page has been updated ....

I believe those pull from the FIRST website and the FRCFMS feed...

...both of which show nothing

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Hatboro-Horsham FIRST Robotics District Competition

One of my fellow mentors was talking to the field staff. Apparently the school's web filtering is preventing them from either downloading an xml config file or preventing the fms messages from going out. With a lot of first time volunteers (doing a great job!) the external updates are low priority.

I have the full current rankings but im on my phone for now. Top eight as of 8pm all friday matches played are:

1) 341
2) 1218
3) 2234
4) 2590
5) 1712
6) 2016
7)1647
8) 486

EDIT: Full, official standing are now available at http://www2.usfirst.org/2012comp/Eve.../rankings.html

Miss Daisy's hybrid mode is simply astounding.... 176 HP in 8 matches. And I admire how modest the status on their Facebook page is.

That modesty matches the way they act in person as well. Very classy group of folks, including Jared the drive coach.

Good luck to them today.

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Hatboro-Horsham FIRST Robotics District Competition

Matches have started, and here's a question.

Are turnaround times between matches at Districts REALLY that quick? 1640 were in the first match of the day (Match 51) and are already back up again (Match 54). Less than 20 minutes, I believe, between each match.

Looking at the posted schedule, that appears to be the case. 1923 just played in Match 62 and are back up again in Match 65. Hatboro-Horsham is one of the two smaller MAR events, but the other districts are only 3-5 teams larger. Having played at off-season events that have had less than 20 teams, I'm excited for the amount of play time we get.

Match turn around is REALLY quick. I'd say a good average for Qualification rounds was around 5 matches this weekend at Hatboro-Horsham. Our shortest turnaround all weekend was match 10 then 13. We didn't even return to the pits, right back to the queue.

Reliability and quick repairs are key for the District events. Charged batteries help too.

Congrats to 341, 1218, and 1640. Well deserved.

Congrats to 1218 for their Chairman's award as well.

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Hatboro-Horsham FIRST Robotics District Competition

Just wanted to say this was a great fun event. The event for being the first district was managed extremely well and was a great place to be.

I would just say loosing that practice day really puts you in a whirl if you normally use that to work out the kinks like we have been. But its manageable. I think it will take some getting used to the change.

Congrats to 341, 1218 on building solid looking machines through week 1, even before the event I thought 1218 was one of the strongest bot out of MAR region and they definitely confirmed that. And 341 not much needs to be said there, a monster machine will be challenging others for a long time to come.

I would like to thank 357 and 708 for great alliance partners. It was great working with you guys.

Looking forward to seeing many of the bots at MAR championships and Rutgers should be a blast, we will definitely we looking to turn around our bot quickly.

I can't believe I forgot to congratulate the event staff, volunteers, and the MAR board and organizers. They really did a fantastic job with very few hiccups.

A big thanks to 2016 for asking us to join their alliance, it was great working with you and 708. When our autonomous modes were hitting 5 of 6 shots, it was very cool to watch.

Congratulations to 341, 1218 & 1640 for winning the event. 341 & 1218 both had amazing shooters and intake systems; I was impressed by the high caliber of play from both of these team's robots during a week 1 event.

As for the event, it ran very smooth for the first ever district MAR event. I can easily say that while the flair of a regular regional event wasn't all there, the excitement and energy level was and it was great playing 12 qualifying matches. I think everyone can breathe a little sigh of relief now - the district model works outside of Michigan, and it's awesome.

Wait a minute, what happened in that 103-0 match? I just saw that score, were there a lot of fouls, a triple balance or what?
