Re: 2012 Greater Kansas City Regional
To sum up the events that happened that lead to us getting pushed back up I can explain. I'm the coach for 1806 and it was all coordinated by me. When I saw us tip onto 3764 because of running over a ball, I quickly darted over to the drivers of 3764 and told them to push us. The driver then proceeded to say, "We don't have enough power." From there I went over to the drivers of 2410 and told them to push the back of 3764 because they don't have enough power to tip us back up. Well everyone knows the outcome. The robot just took one minor bend of our electronics cover. So good thing we had the cover because we probably would of had the corner of a robot sitting right in one of our Victors. I would like to thank the drivers of 3764 and 2410 for reacting so fast on what needed to be done to keep us in the match.

Re: 2012 Greater Kansas City Regional
I would like to thank all those that attended the Greater Kansas City Regional. I believe it is one of the best. It may be that I'm partial as the Co-Chair of the planning committee. The planning committee would like to hear from those that attended to see if there is anything that you would like for the committee to look at for next year to keep it one of the best. Please keep comments pertinent to the regional and items that would be possible.

Well Brandon that’s interesting. I thought our entire alliance working to re-right SWAT was very entertaining. I guess i don’t remember Brandon saying anything to the 3764 drive team, and positive about nothing to the 2410 drive team. I talked to the other drivers on 2410 and.....they don’t remember anything either.
SO I’m sorry to inform everyone that the 2410 Drive team must have been hit by a robot and gotten concussions. This is a very small detail but still this match was a highlight of the regional for me (probably because our robot had so many problems this year but that doesn’t change this "orchestrating" crap) So i guess i should still give a shout out to SWAT and their very nice robot. |

Yeah, that window screen electronics cover worked exactly as planned.
Anyway, I remember watching the rescue from the screen in the pits and walking right over to pit admin to thank 3764 and 2410. Last edited by Woolly : 07-03-2012 at 01:38. |

Re: 2012 Greater Kansas City Regional
For anyone wondering just how tough the KC regional was...
Regional winners 1986 and 16 each won their second regional (St. Louis and Midwest) as #1 seeds. 30th Ranked 2996 just won Colorado as the #1 seed. 1985 just won a regional as the top draft selection and claimed a Regional Chairman's award. In addition each of the following KC regional attendees have won the engineering inspiration award this year!
Special congrats to 1710 for winning the Regional Chairman's Award in Chicago. We missed you this year at KC, but you are definetly a part of the KC robotics culture. |

Re: 2012 Greater Kansas City Regional
Adding on a few more:
By my count, that's 13 teams from KC that have a ticket to St. Louis, and there's still another week of competitions left. |
