Re: 2012 Pittsburgh Regional

Team 2614 was honored to play alongside 48 and 375 (a team we played against in the finals in 2008 when we first won the Pittsburgh Regional - nice to be on the same side this time guys). After two years in a row of going out in the semifinals when an alliance partner accidently committed a red card infraction, it was especially nice to make it into the finals at a regional this year. All our scouting data told us that our strengths and 48's would make a strong team, so we are very glad 48 had the same idea. I personally enjoyed being able to hand Travis the Woodie Flowers Award. Mine is my most treasured possession, so I know how much respect your team must have for you. Place it somewhere where everyone can see it and then field all the "huh, what is that?" questions.

Winning really was a blast, but what really pleases me and my team is to see that other teams appreciated our efforts to get as many robots onto the field as possible. We love to play everyone at their very best. Oh, and to our former rookie team, team 3492 PARTs, sorry guys. We are tied in semifinal meetings now. Next year let's be seeds 1 & 2 and play together on Saturday afternoon.

Re: 2012 Pittsburgh Regional

Here's a local TV news story reporting on Team 48's Pittsburgh Regional performance, taped today at Harding High School. Cameos by 2614 and 375's robots.

Thankfully, I appear nowhere in this, ALTHOUGH it is my 6-ball auton footage that makes it into the story - I think you can hear me yelling faintly.... :-P

Thank You from Team 375

Team 375 would like to thank everyone at the Pittsburgh Regional for making our participation memorable One, we believe Travis Hoffman (Team 48) put it best with his post thanking everyone and we would like to lament the same sentiments.

We would also like to give a personal shout out to:

Team 48: For picking us as their 3rd alliance member. When we heard our number called, we knew that we hit the lottery, "Good teams know how to win, great teams know how to pick a winning alliance that win championships" Coach Keith is one of the greatest motivators we ever participated with.

Team 2614: Four years ago, we knew you were something special, we are glad to see that nothing has changed. If anything, you proved that good guys finish first. We see a Chairman's award in the near future.

Team 3504: To the girls of steel, thank you for beginning such non-stop positive energy to the region. Your gracious professionalism is a model for all teams to follow. Not too many teams would give another team a 775 banebot without asking for anything in return. You definitely deserved the engineering inspiration award.

To everyone competing: Thank you for your support. When you are 400 miles away from home, you feel like a stranger. Everyone made us feel like we were part of something bigger.
