Camera Image Not Sent Over Wireless Connection

Hello Chiefdelphi,

Our team has had the most frustrating time using the camera this year. This issue at hand, however, is that the camera will display an image when connected through the tether, however, when we connect wirelessly (even through the field at competition) we do not get an image. This past weekend, we used driver dead reckoning to aim the robot and did a very good job, if I may say so. However, there were times when we found our shots traveling just to the left or right, and this is where at least having the camera display in the driver station would be helpful.

If it helps, we are using a 4-slot cRio, with the camera connected directly to the radio. The IP of the camera is 10.7.44.11 and the IP of the cRio is 10.7.44.2. We do not get an image when using a classmate or another laptop, nor when using either the smart or regular dashboard.

If anyone has had the same problem, and has solved it, or thinks they know what is happening, please help.

Thank you,
Alex

Re: Camera Image Not Sent Over Wireless Connection

Does the web browser see the camera and image? Has the camera been configured to have an FRC,FRC account? And if used for smart dashboard it needs to have the anonymous account enabled. It may also be possible for the firewall to interfere, though I wouldn't expect it.

I believe that the web browser does see the camera image when connected through a tether. And I am 99.99% sure that we have the account at FRC, FRC and that the anonymous account was enabled for smart dashboard and that we turned off the firewall. However, I sent a text to our programming mentor to double check. Any thing else would be appreciated. Thank you!

Our team had a similar issue. We were able to get a camera image tethered in our pit, but as soon as we got into the arena there was no camera on the Dashboard for our drivers. Although, we were able to get a camera image tethered and through wireless at our school shop before we flashed the D-Link Wireless Bridge for the competition. With the problem at hand, we tried resetting our camera and re-flashing the D-Link, but still had no success. I borrowed a loner camera from the First organizers and like magic a new camera worked.

I am using a non-classmate driver station. I recently realized after, that I did not install a Utilities Update 2.0 (2262) for the non-classmate driver station. I wonder if that could fix this weird issue. The update says: Setup Axis Camera Tool - Axis 206 camera loses communication after power cycle.
Assuming this also works for the M1011.

That sounds about as close to the problem that we're having as I've heard. We finally decided to try using last years camera (the 206) and it seems to work perfectly. This is very strange. I'll mention the utilities update to our programming mentor, as it couldn't hurt to have two camera's ready to go at competition, if that fixes the M1101's problem. Thank you for your help!!!!!
