Yes. THIS is the solution.

We absolutely encourage discussion about the rankings! However, keep in mind that if you didnt vote, your vote maybe have been the change that you were looking for! There's a difference between discussing and complaining. Please don't complain about the rankings when you didn't vote, but please feel free to discuss your feelings!

Remember, the FRC Top 25 was created to be a fun place to talk about robots. If you're not having fun, then what's the point? We always say that all the teams in like in the top 10 could be interchangeable with each other. As far as teams that didn't make the list, all we can say is encourage people in your area to vote! They more people that vote, the better and more accurate the rankings could be!

To anyone worried about the accuracy of this poll, please remember that it is an opinion poll, and reflects only the opinions of those voting. It is purely subjective.

If you want an objective poll, OPR is one approach.

Meanwhile, the shows keep getting better and better.

Pink's all the way up at 11th now, while 1592 remains outside of the honorable mentions. I know that 233 improved significantly in Boston, but the name recognition bonus that teams like they receive really ruins the credibility of these polls.

You see the same thing with teams like 118, 111, 148, 71, 33, 610, and 399. They're all either very well known teams or released nifty promo videos. They all did well. But there are teams that have unquestionably outperformed them ranked beneath them.
I think there is some kind of balance that is needed. power house teams should probably be ranked higher than there robot performs are based on passed performance, potential, and the experience that they bring but there is also a place for amazing robots that don't have the same kind of pedigree. The solution is for people to post videos of matches and webcasts of good robots on Delphi so that people can actually watch these less known robots. one of the reasons pink was ranked after Orlando despite not being the main scoring robot on their alliance is it was very hard to find any videos of Orlando and no one can watch every webcast and every robot, especially weeks they compete so people assumed pink was the power team on the alliance. I have yet to find a good video of Orlando and 1592. another good example of this is MAR, i think MAR is very competitive and has a bunch or really good robots that no one outside the region knows about and yet only has 3 teams in the top 25 (and less next week because 365 will probably drop out because they are idle). I think and hope MAR championships opens a lot of people's eye's to how strong the region is.

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 4 Results Broadcast LIVE tonight!

I'm assuming they use a 25 points for first, 24 for second... and so on approach for the rankings. If this is true, a team could be ranked quite a bit, but if they're ranked in the 20s by everyone it'd take quite a few votes to even qualify for the honorable mentions.

FYI, here are videos of the Florida eliminations (which contain two MAR teams as a bonus ).
