Panelists needed for Robotics Conference
We are again hosting at Championships a panel discussion where girls can talk to women in industry and education about their careers, education, and experiences.
We are looking for women who are interested in serving as panelists, who work in industry or academia. Panelists introduce themselves, give a little synopsis of their career, and then field questions from the audience. This has included topics such as why you picked your career and the education needed, have you changed careers and why, benefits and pitfalls on being a women in a male dominated field, etc.
We are particularly looking for women who were students on a FIRST team so they can discuss how that has helped them get where they are.
This is the third year we have had this and it seems to get better each year. Last year there were over 100 attendees. Everyone is invited - FLL, FTC, and FRC students, mentors, family. It is scheduled as part of the robotics conferences for Thursday, tentatively at 3:00.

Today’s Girls in Tomorrow’s Workplace – A Panel Discussion on Careers in Science, Engineering,& Technology
Girls – Are you thinking about a career in science, technology, or engineering? Are you interested in how this can be a stepping stone to related careers? Come to a panel discussion with women who are working in various industries and education, will describe their career path, and reflect on the challenges and opportunities along the way. The discussion will be followed by the opportunity for you to ask questions of the women on the panel.

Being consistently enthusiastic with a consistent message is not easy to do without sounding like a cult. We could use a reasonably large collection of things to say that restate the mission and vision of FIRST but don't appear to be stock phrases. - Alan Anderson [more]
