Chris, great file, thanks for doing this.

I found one error: You forgot 2004 Colorado Chairman's for 79

There is about 2 or 3 teams at most, that have a realistic shot at it.............and they know who they are!
More that one Championship Chairman's? I don't know where you heard that, but I very highly doubt that would happen. The point of CCA is that you are the best. Not the 'eh, somewhere in this group right here.' You're the best, and you are that year's Hall of Fame inductee. I think it should stay that way.

FRC Game Manual Section 6.4.1

"Hall of Fame members; i.e., teams that have already earned the Chairman’s Award, are ineligible to resubmit for consideration for five (5) years. Teams that earned the Chairman’s Award at the Championship prior to 2007 are eligible to participate in 2011. Teams that earned the Chairman’s Award in 2007-2011 are ineligible."

My interpretation of this is that, because teams who won CCA prior to 2007 and eligible to submit for RCA this year, they would also be eligible for CCA again if they were selected for that honor.

She means one winner selected per year. (right?) I have to agree. You are the one for that year. Though then again, that's probably not really congruous with reality. I guess it's possible.

Yep, that's what I read.

There IS one team that has two CCAs, back when that was the only one awarded. They're also a sustaining team: 191, the X-Cats.

I'm sorry - I was interpreting Glenn's comment as 'they would give out more than one Championship Chairman's Award per year , not that you can win CCA more than once...

Oh, okay. In that case yes, I would agree with you, only one team should win the CCA per year. Sorry for the confusion on that...

Re: Most Chairman's wins

I have a question? does anyone every get tried of seeing the same teams win the chairmans award over and over at the same regional? I have nothing against the teams that are receiving the awards, because they are GREAT teams and do even better jobs spreading FIRST. It just seems to me it discourages other teams from trying to standout. I know regionals have plenty of other good teams that never seem to get recognized.

The Chairman's award is not about being "good enough", it is about being the best. Rewarding someone for being good enough is not the message we want to send our students. If a team is truly better than another, then it is the job of the team to convey that and prove to the judges that it is true.

I get tired of the regionals that don't give the award to a team because they won the year before. That is really against the spirit of the award and it is frustrating to the students who work so hard to spread FIRST and do not get the recognition that they have earned. We used to submit at a regional like that but do not anymore for that very reason. The result has been 3 straight chairman's awards since we switched.
