Hey, atleast they have a stream. Yesterday we thought there wouldn't even be one! Why is 1477 doing so poorly?

Re: 2012 Lonestar Regional

The competition looked great today.

359, 118 , 1477, 624 still look like the teams to beat,
I expect those pairings to happen quickly,

The next level of teams should be interesting, there are definitely enough robots to keep the scoring at a decent level, but will it be enough to beat the big players ?

Anybody want to post their scouting stats ?

I don't see any triple balances or unique feeding strategies emerging, should be a fun day tomorrow at Lone Star !

Great Job WiredCats & Oscar

Great job 2415 (SF) & 832 (QF) for representing Georgia extremely well at the Lonestar Regional. You both competed in the Saturday afternoon playoff brackets and 832 was part of a 3 bot blue alliance balance in one QF match.

In SF2, the WiredCats scored 36 points in hybrid after the other two alliance members gave them all 6 balls. I "think" 2415 scored all 67 hoop points however, their alliance still lost the SF to the eventual competition winning alliance of 359, 1642, 118 by a score of 106-90.

The WiredCats won the Engineering Inspiration Award so congratulations again.

It was so much fun watching you online. We're proud of both of our representatives to Texas.

Actually, 2415 scored all 70 of the Blue alliance's basket points in what was a performance people would expect from teams like 67 and 2056. 2415 has a bright future at Championships if they continue to play like that!

Congratulations to 118, 359, and 1642! Especially to 118 for winning their first regional in 3 tries this year, despite having a dominant robot in all 3 events. Congratulations to the finalists 624, 1477, and 2773 for playing well in both finals matches!

Re: 2012 Lonestar Regional

A big congratulations to FIRST team 2936, Gatorzillas for winning their first RCA. What a story! 151 out reach programs just this year!

Congrats to FIRST teams 359, 118, and 1642 for their Regional win. An awesome exhibition of shooting in the finals.

And a big Texas sized thank you for Glenn from the Hawaiian Kids for making the long trip to come and play at Lone Star. Your team is the perfect example of what a Hall Of Fame team should be. Gracious from the start, and all through the competition.

I have started making arrangements on your offer to come to Hawaii next year! Good luck in St. Louis!

I'd like to point out that that was without any triple balancing, just double balancing. I'll admit I prefer winning, but losing after putting up a 6-ball Rube Goldberg auton and 90 total points.... well you have to respect an opponent that can win against that.

So, since we're doing the thanks here:
Thanks to 2415 and 3997 for the rather awesome and definitely fun alliance. We had a good run and a stellar last match, it's hard to ask for a better finish than that. Congrats to 2415 on the Engineering Inspiration, and 3997 for the Rookie All-Star. Best of luck to both of you at Champs, I'll be rooting for you.

Congrats to 118, 359, and 1642 on the regional win. It's hard to argue with that level of firepower, but we tried our best.

To Glenn from 359: You, sir, are the picture perfect definition of a gracious winner, and darned fun to talk to. You're welcome back any time. Just give us a heads up so we can lasso up the tornadoes in advance of your flight in. Also, my wife send her thanks for your kind gift of delicious chocolate covered macadamia nuts.

More congrats to 2936 on the Regional Chairman's, well deserved for a consistent and consistently large and enthusiastic team.

Huge thanks to 2587 for the loan/donation of a planetary stage from your 256:1 banebots gearbox to fix our exploded wedge gearbox. I'm hoping we left you enough parts to repair yours that broke slightly later. In the future, I'll make sure my agents are a little more clear if we'll be cannibalizing your part to repair our bot. I can guarantee you we'll never be borrowing parts for a 256:1 banebots gearbox again, if that's any consolation.

And now I think I'm going to collapse and try to recover from the non-stop fun and excitement of the last four days/months. Someone wake me up when it's kickoff.

Re: 2012 Lonestar Regional

With a high number of experienced teams coupled with one of the best FIRST games I've seen, I have to say Lone Star was the best regional this year!!

Congrats to 118, 359 and 1642 on their regional win. You guys did awesome and were amazing to watch through eliminations.

Congrats to 2936 on Regional Chairman's. You all really deserved it after all the hard work you do all year long.

And a huge thank you to 364, Team Fusion for looking past our horrible record and ranking and seeing the potential we had for your alliance. It was unfortunate that all the mechanical issues you could think of, happened to us in the semis. But despite all of that, we put up a great fight against the #2 seed alliance and we enjoyed working with you guys and look forward to working with you all again whenever you make your trip back to Houston.

Great regional everyone!! Now get some rest (including everyone that's going to St. Louis in 2 weeks) and get ready for some awesome championship matches. See ya next year!!

Re: 2012 Lonestar Regional

Another great Lone Star in the books.

I'm to tired to list all the thank yous, but to everyone that helps put on such an awesome regional every year from the regional committee, to the judges, inspectors, safety advisers, referees, volunteers, teams and everyone I'm forgetting, THANK YOU.

Hope to see a lot of you again at Championship, Texas Robot Rumble, and next year at Lone Star.

Re: 2012 Lonestar Regional

Here here and I second all the wonderful things everyone is saying about Lone Star this year. It is definately a power house regional! Congrats to
359, 1642, and 118 you guys had an incredible alliance!

Also to 2936 for Chairman's we watched your video and well...just HOLY COW!!

Lastly I want to say thank you to Gatozilla and Oscar for inviting us to join you in the elims. After a rough year in Logomotion we needed a moral booster and boy did we get it. We are the onlyalliance at Lone Star that TRIPLE BALANCED!! (BTW I think we may have a really good picture of it if you guys want to PM me with an email address to send it to).

Thank you to everyone who attended Lone Star and most of all to Lucia who never fails to make Lone Star one of the most well run regionals in the nation!!

See you guys next year...

Re: 2012 Lonestar Regional

From Team 359 to everyone that made the Lone Star regional happen, thank you so much for making us feel very welcome to Texas and for letting us spread the aloha spirit!
As a member of the Hawaii regional committee (small part), I saw a lot of instances that our own teams could learn from you folks about GP and the generosity displayed by all teams.

Paul of team 1429: Thanks for all that you have done for us from kickoff to the last day of this tournament. I will miss you and your team if you don't come to CMP. Hope we see you in Hawaii next year, and you can bet that we will personally take care of you folks.

To all of the great robot competitors: 118, 624, 1477, 231, 2415, 364, 1429, etc....Thanks for making it a stressful weekend having to play all of you but never with you!

To team 57: thank you to all members of the Sevcik family that helped us feel welcome and for the great chats we had between rounds. Because of you folks, we may come back next year or attend Bayou.....if the schedule permits.

Thank You to our alliance partners, 118 and 1642. We made a great alliance that rivals any alliances from any regional. The pure firepower we displayed was just a thrill to be part of.

And finally to teams 624 and 1477, it was great collaborating with you both and sharing ideas about running a FIRST team, in addition to your great scoring machines.

See you all at CMP!
