Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 6 Voting!

Ahhhhh too many teams to choose from, and i wasn't able to see all of them. OPR doesn't show everything, just look at Lone Star Semi 1-2. We need a top 50 before CMP starts.

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 6 Voting!

It just seams inconceivable that our robot WazooIII will not be at championships this year after a #1 and #2 seed (we missed #1 by one hybrid basket) and a top 20 OPR. Its a huge disappointment for us.

Please do us a favor and throw some votes our way.

All is not lost.
There's always IRI, MARC and Cage Match to give your bot some more playtime.

As an observer of robots from 4 different Regionals (Israel, Boilermaker, Silicon Valley, Queen City), I would vote for your robot to be the best I have seen this year. I agree that 829 not going to the Championships is a disappointment.

And you're a good pit neighbor also.

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 6 Voting!

My team, 1056, may be the highest ranking team to not make it to worlds this year. OPR world rank of 11th. Could only afford one shot at it this year and we couldn't pull it off. Best of luck to 359 who had an unbelievable regional win in Houston this weekend. I can't believe no one has them in the top 25 after two more regional wins this year (I lost track of how many in a row that is) and Championship Chairmans last year. They jumped us to 10th place in World OPR and will be a force at Worlds. Get em Glenn!!

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 6 Voting!

If you want to get sympathy about your team being undervalued, don't spout OPR numbers. Back it up with hard facts and meaningful numbers.

Team 1712 had a higher OPR than 2590 at Lenape, but not a single person, on Dawgma or otherwise, would argue that we were anywhere as good as Team Nemesis.

OPR is a starting point and a quick reference tool. It is not an accurate performance metric. Comparing OPR across different events is completely meaningless.

Andy, that is an impressive itinerary. And it explains why we have not seen each other yet this season -- I was at KC, Waterford, Midwest, and Niles. Are you coming to MSC?

The Digital Goats have been inspiring me for several years now. Most memorably at the 2007 St. Louis regional when both 829 and 45 were deep picks (seeded in the bottom half of the field) by the undefeated #1 AC 1444, and that alliance took down the amazing combination of 148-217 in an epic final. (epic = Andy Baker, Paul Copioli, and John V-Neun all coaching, and the rack filling up.) The Goats' aggressive driving in that final was a deciding factor.

I have only seen 829 in video this year, but even from a distance their robot is awesome. Wish you guys played in Michigan. Maybe MARC?

Agreed. I will be talking about this in detail at my seminar at the Championship.
