Pushing Against Platform Sides

Are you allowed to hold/push against the sides of the platform anytime during a match? What are the rulings on this?

I believe you are allowed to push against the railing, but on one side only, not both. As to attaching to any part of the field (including railings) I believe it is illegal.

FIRST just said on their Jive forums that your are not allowed to push on walls, even indirectly, say you were pushing on a box against the wall. As far as I know I believe there is a rule stating you cannot damage any part of the field or else you are DQed.

Timinator is an unknown quantity at this point
If I remember correctly, the rules explicitly say pushing a bin against a wall is allowed as long as it doesn't damage the arena.

I do remember correctly; GM31
