Scoring
Hey everyone! Um, I was just on the Q&A and heard several different perspectives of scoring when an opppnent's robot is touching your tallest stack. What do you guys think? Of course when you are touching it at the end of the round it does not count, but... hmmm, I thought that also included ANY robot, but now it's got me thinking that it might not.

From what i understand if a Blue robot is touching a blue stack, the stack doesnt count
but if red is touching a blue stack it still counts
|

also, do you think it is negated if you are touching the opponent robot that exclusively supports the stack?

Ooh, good question! If I remember from what other people were talking about from the FIRST update, no fraction of boxes count, but they do measure the height. Personally, I think it should be the height of the stack. I the other robot adds another box heigth, great! hmmm, that would be nice...  come, come curtis - do you really think they would do that to us? Last edited by Jessica Fusher : 08-01-2003 at 22:42.

Or would it not count at all since it's not in any "zone" because it's in the air. Boxes can't take on the characteristics of the robot, can it?

If the robot is in the scoring zone, and is the sole support for the box, it should be counted, and assigned a multiplier value determined by height, depending on whether scoring is done by rules or common sense.

Robotics people...common sense...rules? Wow, those are three contradicting things in just one sentence
It'll be kind of hard to measure from where the boxes start, but then again with the rounding down rule, 99.9% of the time, it's going to be the number of boxes since it's hard to have 3 boxes lined up on top of each other on its side.
