One additional note: I do not believe that when a team in FiM or MAR wins a chairman's award at a district event and then again at the FiM or MAR championship that it should count double for that year. I would only count the ones awarded at the FiM/MAR championship. That puts it on par with the teams attending regional events who can only present and win once per season.

That's correct by design. Michigan has 193 teams. If those were put into normal regionals, it would be approximately 3. Thus, the 3 winners from Michigan. Only the wins at the Michigan Championship should count. If you decide it's really worthwhile to count...

Re: 2012 CCA Contenders

When a team under the regional system plays at more than one during a season, is that team permitted more than one Chairman's presentation per season?

In Michigan, though the teams typically go to two districts, any one team is only allowed one Chairman's presentation at a district event per season. And then must do it again at state championship to get to CMP.

The regional winner only has to do one presentation to get to CMP.

Not sure how to compare regional and district models for Chairman's if regional model allows more than one team presentation per season.

Further, if a district team goes to a regional (and this does happen), is that team prohibited from a chairman's presentation at the regional?

Clarification would be appreciated.

Re: 2012 CCA Contenders

FiM and MAR teams can only present for District Chairman's at one district event. They cannot present at a regional. They must win a District Chairman's to be eligible to present at the Region CHP. They must win one of the Region CHP slots to present at the World CHP.

Regional teams can only present for Regional Chairman's at one Regional. They must win the Regional Chairman's to present at the World CHP.

The thought on that would be that it is easier to win a district (even though many regionals are smaller than the 40 team districts). It would be reasonable to argue that winning a Regional Championship slot is slightly harder than a traditional Regional. So, let's go 0.75 for the district win, and 1.25 for the Regional Championship win...

Often things that count are immeasurable, and things that are measurable really don't count. There are a lot of wonderful teams on this list above doing some really amazing things.

************************************************** **************
Personally, I have my favorites on the list above. I must be living under a rock though as I know very little about 1108. I need to do a little research on them as the "numbers" would say they are a front runner. From what I can find, these folks have won 7 chairman's in their 10 years of existence, and have won in a very diverse cross section of Regionals (KC, Lone star, Boilermaker, Wisconsin...). Very impressive list.
