How about the alley-oop pass from 1807 to 4373 at MAR Chestnut Hill event in week 2, described in this thread (with direct link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kQcHR8ewK8

I'm sorry, you guys are absolutely right. I just used the the most well known team of each alliance because it was an easier shorthand. I didn't mean for it to come out as only crediting those teams, just referencing a team that is easily recognizable was something that seemed logical at the time.

I will correct this ASAP. And my apologies to anyone I offended when I made this huge, rather insensitive oversight. My bad

And thanks for letting me know about 67's autonomous. I thought it was just that I couldn't find usable footage of it, rather than it didn't happen. I'll make sure to research the events more thoroughly in the future.

Thanks again.

Maybe a roundtable discussion of sorts covering different things. sort of like how ESPN does Around the Horn, PTI and First Take. Have a preset list of debatable topics and go for it.

Debate the triple balance? Also what will happen if the scores are changed for the bridges? How about a showcase of robots from different regions like west coast, east coast, south, Midwest, central, etc.

I haven't seen video posted yet of the MAR Championship (sorry if I missed it). Here are links to videos of the two final round matches:

Final Round Match 1
Final Round Match 2

Hopefully I did that correctly.

Since double triples are so rare, it may be useful to have short clips of all three of them (that I know of):

Waterford Finals Match 2
MSC Quarterfinals 1 Match 2
MSC Finals Match 1

Too bad the videos aren't very good...

Tom Nader's announcing is so amusing to listen to. Watching him run around when the double triples happen in front of the FTA is funny as well.

Re: [FRCTop25.com]- Post-MAR/MSC, Pre-Championship Show!

I would like to hear more discussion about final bridge balance situations like MAR Championship Final 1 match that suggest there is no way to safely play defense anywhere near your opponents bridge. Heck maybe you could be pushed into bridge from 10 feet away and incur penalties? If same calls are made at CMP then triples become even bigger game changer?

Re: [FRCTop25.com]- Post-MAR/MSC, Pre-Championship Show!

This is off topic but I did not know where else to post this question:

How are divisions selected? Is it totally random, or do they use some sort of weighting system to assure the powerhouse teams are equally distributed among divisions? (Sorry for the newbie question.)

Re: [FRCTop25.com]- Post-MAR/MSC, Pre-Championship Show!

The Wisconsin Regional Finals Match 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSChOG_CB6Y

For a while (might still be) this was the highest combined non-bridge scoring (78-67) with nearly 100 teleop points scored!
Blue alliance ended up scoring more than 50 teleop points in both Finals matches!

I am at work so I can't find anything better. If anyone has better, feel free to post.

Here another video of the MSC QF 1-2 match, course this does mainly follow 862.
But it has a pretty good view of our triple balance.

Would anybody be interested in previewing the Newton or Archimedes division on the show tonight? You would just webcam in to the show and talk about the division, giving some stats and what not. Let me know ASAP if you would be interested!

Strategy aficionados will appreciate this match:

http://youtu.be/ceu6hlW5AdA

It happened week 1, and really opened our eyes as to how to get the most out of your alliance's potential.

It's a skill that a lot of teams still under-appreciate, but will factor heavily in qualifications.

That match was "interesting" to say the least. I was hoping no one would ever have to see a match like that. We looked pretty brutal that early on (wrong high gear ratio, wrong wheels on one side of the robot, no driver practice, etc.). Needless to say, we play a lot better now. I believe that was the first time we ever tried to tip the bridge the other way. All I remember is that neither partner could tip the bridge during that match.

The good news is, I think our strategies usually get the most out of the alliance. It took us a while to talk our partners into that one.
