Re: Rookie Teams at Championship 2012

I have the final count as 62 Rookie Teams! Congrats to all of you on your success so far!

I hope you'll be able to make time to attend the All Rookie Meet and Greet on Friday at 6:15 (at the end of matches!) The event will end at 6:45 giving teams time to make it to the ball game for the first pitch!

Watch for the invitation in your pits on Thursday Morning!

Can't forget 4130, Devil Robotics. They're also competing for Rookie All-Star. They have a really good defensive bot.

So we know that we will have about 15 rookies per division, I can see the battle for Highest Rookie Seed will be intense!

Who is going to be submitting for the Championship Rookie All-Star Award?
Team 4028 is excited to go to St. Louis! We will be competing in the Galileo division among some truly amazing teams.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how many rookie teams won their regionals and will be in St Louis?

Congratulations to all rookie teams!! Good luck to you all

Rookies,

The Girls Of Steel, FRC 3504, have graciously added a post on their helpful website, Rookie FIRSTS, about the upcoming NEMO meeting at the Championship Event. Please share this information with your adult leaders. We'll see you there!

We have finally finished our rookie research in preparation for the All Rookie Meet and Greet and I can finally answer this question!

17 of the rookies who will be in St. Louis won their regionals or districts.

I think any team who has won a regional RAS has shown they can "hook them" in the pit. . . We are now talking about what makes one RAS the best RAS in the country. I would argue the further creation of materials allows first and foremost for an extra year of practice for a formal chairmans, but also show an understanding and foresight in terms of the team and the FIRST competition and their plan of where they are going with their team.

Also the teams who prepare that collateral their first year can show their progress/growth/(buzzword) from every year they have been in existence which has been very clearly shown to be a successful RCA tact. The practice of going through that style of formal presentation to judges would not do any thing but strengthen their EI/RCA's in years to come as well as improve their chances of a Champs RAS
