Re: Predictions Championship 2012: Galileo
I would also personally would keep in mind 3322, they have a deadly accurate yet consistent shooter, being the first 6 ball hybrid with them shooting all of them. I have seen this team run, i would watch out for them.

Re: Predictions Championship 2012: Galileo
I would really like to see Bomb Squad reach Einstein this year. Their ability to zip over the bump and steal balls quickly would be really fun to watch at the highest level of play. They might be better at gathering than anybody else.

180, 399, 772, 1718, 1918, 2054, etc. I see an alliance led by some of those teams making Einstein as well as what LF said.
Are you ready to put these somewhat incomplete predictions to the test? We sure are! |

Re: Predictions Championship 2012: Galileo
I'll second that vote for team #180 SPAM as a sleeper. They have a 28-6 record this year with a win in South Florida and a finalist at Central Florida against a very tough lineup of teams. They run a solid hybrid mode and are a very effective shooter. If they don't seed high, they will be a solid pickup for any alliance.
Raider Robotix (Team #25) will be a force in Galileo. They really come on strong in elimination matches and with their veteran status and oustanding scouting could easily make Einstein. Pair Bomb Squad (#16) with Raider (#25) and throw in a SPAM (#180) and lookout everybody. That would be my dream alliance to watch, mainly because I have the utmost respect for all three of these teams and they have been such an influence on the success of Team #343. I'm sad the MIM-343 won't be playing at the championship this year, but I'm exicted to watch many of our friends at the competition. Best of luck to all teams in Galileo and at the competition. |

Re: Predictions Championship 2012: Galileo
Well as has been said before; even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut.
Actually, I had confidence that 180 would seed well, but I have to say I am totally blown away that both 25 and 16 were available for SPAM. I mean how does 25 get overlooked three spots in the first round and make it to the fourth pick? Then even more amazing, how does team 16 last until halfway back up the ladder for a second pick?? Now don't get me wrong there were a lot of really good teams in Galileo, and I don't mean to shortchange anybody, but I'll take the pedigree of team #25 and #16 all day long in the elimination matches. It's hard to beat their experience, determination, and strategy. Of course I'm biased because team 343 has been lucky enough to play with all three of these teams at regionals and divisions so we know their strengths first hand. I still wish we could have a do over of Einstein-2003 with team #25. Congratulations to 180/25/16 for winning the championship. I can tell you that the team members on all three of these teams are some of the nicest and most helpful you will ever meet, |

Always a nice surprise when your team is the first bolded.
