Believe it or not, i'm pretty sure the rookie team with the best robot doesnt always win the rookie of the year award. As a first year team get a robot running so you can play the game, and show the judges you are out there. Show a since of organization, help other people if you have time, cheer as a team, be loud (u could get 2 awards), cheer for other teams, try to keep a somewhat organized pit, and if a judge stops by take time to talk to them (it can only help).
