Internships

I was our team's main contact for one of our manufacturing sponsors, so I just sent an email asking if there was anything I could do with them this summer. Our relationship with them has never been really strong, but when we occasionally need something from them, they've aways been very accommodating, especially about this.

I always worked close with our main sponsor and their mentors as a student. Now that I am in college they have granted me an internship because I continue to help the team as a mentor.

I know that during Einstein at Championships, the speaker from UTC said that they would be offering internships specifically to FRC students. I looked briefly into it, and it looks like they are offering a number of interesting engineering related positions.

Just a word of advice and caution: I have sent out a number of resumes looking for a summer internship with no success. Many companies are not looking for interns that are not enrolled in college, despite the fact that your skills from FRC would more than qualify you for the position. If you don't end up getting a position, try to enjoy one of your last summers of relative relaxation. There's plenty of time to work later.
