I'm sorry, but I can't just let this go.

To which problem do you refer, when you speak about the DLINK bridge system?

And can you explain to me how the intended purpose - a wireless bridge - is different from how we're using it?

Re: Just an idea...regarding the recent Control problems

I'll take a crack at that.
1) powering it from a battery, not a household outlet, and
2) running it around on a robot, instead of sitting on your desk, and
3) close to a lot of DC motors, and other potentially noisy electronics.

There is no way that DLINK product engineers ever envisioned this box running around on a robot. And as such, they made design choices around an expected use case. Now you get a NEBS compliant access point, and we could argue that it might not matter, but these boxes are a long way from that.

I am speaking about the physical DAP-1522 that we place on our robot for use on the field and in the shops. This is a device meant to be turned on and placed on a shelf or cart and left there. No where does the manufacturer state that this device can handle the environment that we are placing them in. In fact I would be curious to see how D-Link handles a return or RMA when we explain to them what that device has been through.

As for the second question I believe there is a confusion among words because we are using a wireless bridge exactly what is intended to be used for.
