It's taken a little leg work and some discussions, we're working on the finer details, and it will likely be a modified game play and schedule (we're supposed to keep action going through a 2 day outdoor event) - lots and lots of very public exposure. Over 250,000 people attend this event every year with over 7,000 human teams. 450 basketball courts are located all over the streets of Spokane. The town is practically shut down to host this event -- and you can be part of it!
We're looking for teams with an interest in playing to the crowd and showing off in the summer. We're building an outdoor field, we're going to attempt to have FMS Delta up and operational for it to have the field controls and displays available, audio, etc. We really need some committed teams!
Entry Fee: None!
Dates: June 30 and July 1st
Location: Downtown Spokane Washington
Modified Game: game will be changed based on the number of robots available, as will scheduling between matches. If we have lots of teams we could keep it 3 on 3. If there are fewer teams we'll limit it to 2 on 2 (conserve battery charging and keep field busy) - also plans on some exhibition time (since the area will be full of basketball players) Perhaps some robot HORSE or robot vs human HORSE as well.
Should be lots of fun, a great summer event, and something that gets FIRST seen beyond our own events and normal audience.
Come play with us! You can contact me through this thread or PM me for questions -- but if you keep the questions on the thread that'd be great for everyone!
