FIRST Dj's
Hello
I am interested in being the Dj for an event in Michigan during the 2013 season, but I'm not sure how to sign up or anything. I have a copy of the 2012 song list and another document containing instructions on how to be one. I have been the Dj for a few dances and have experience working with audio. Do you have to register as a FIRST volunteer, or do you sign up a different way? Feedback would be really great so please comment if you have helpful info. |

Re: FIRST Dj's
Best thing to do would to be contact the person in charge of the district you are wanting to DJ for. Their information can be found at http://www.firstinmichigan.org/contact_us.html. They will be able to direct you in who to contact and how to get it set up, if they have not already made plans for a DJ.

Re: FIRST Dj's
You will also likely need to sign up through VIMS. Very similar to TIMS, just the Volunteer section.

Yes I used to VIMS last year to sign up to do AV for the Niles Michigan Regional Event.

Re: FIRST Dj's
See if you can get some experience in the offseason by working some FLL events or anything else. Up in NH, most of the DJing is done by a FIRST alum who doesn't have the time to mentor, but gives back by offering to DJ events. He's got it down to a science at this point.
