Re: Happy Fathers Day!
One of my favorite mentors during my 4 years of FRC fits the OP's description... his daughter was one of the founding members of the team as a freshman and that's how he got started as an electrical mentor. He taught me many skills (soldering especially) and inspired me to excell.
His daughter was still on the team when I was a freshman but graduated during my 3 year tenure; however, her dad stayed as a mentor and currently still is a mentor on the team. As he told me, "I here because I want to be here, not because of my daughter." In my eyes, this is one of the reasons why I respect him so much to this day.
To all the dads in FIRST, happy (belated) Fathers day!
