The endless sands is a reference to the supposed location of Car Nack, a prophet/soothsayer/prognosticator/etc. (
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/member.php?u=5557 ). Car Nack's corner isn't dedicated to cars, but to his prediction. I'm surprised this forum is open to any forum member.
