When Do Meetings Start for Your Team?

Today was the 3rd day of classes at our school.

We kept going through July last year on account of going to IRI for the first time. In prior years we stopped for the summer and got going in mid-late September.

I think that's in the past now.

We've got after-school recruitment meetings this week and next week with our first returning members meeting meeting next Thursday (Sept 6), the the first all-team meeting the following Tuesday (Sept 11).

We have an in-school demo on the 21st, a demo at a local engineering company on the 25th and then an off season event on the 29th and then a booth at the community fair Oct 6th.

School for us started August 27 and we are going to meet every Thursday except for the first week.

We had summer meetings every Monday and so we skipped a week so we could focus on school starting, then started up every Monday and Tuesday, and Thursday to help with the FLL Team we Mentor.

After champs we met every thursday after school for a couple hours. During the summer we met every Thursday from 1-4pm (sometimes later). Other sub-groups like CAD would meet in addition to the Thursday meetings. Now that school has started back up, we have a leadership meeting Tuesdays after school, lunch meetings on Thursday to discuss what will be going on after school that day where we will meet from 3-5pm. Again, other teams like PR/CAD/Fundraising will meet in addition to these meeting times.

We topped off at 85 kids this summer, yikes. We are down to about 60 now.

This is the first year that we've gone full year, so our meetings started in July with some pre-season stuff. Now that school's started (Just started last week), we've done Freshmen Activities Day and we're hosting a welcome mixer for new students on the 18th. We'll have 4 meetings a month (2 Tuesdays, 2 Saturdays) until the end of November, then probably meet a couple of times a week through December, readying for the build season. Then during build season, we meet Tuesday & Thursday nights and all day Saturdays.

And through all that, we're doing a demo at Raytheon (one of our major sponsors), most likely teaming up with our school at the 3 fall fairs in the area, and we did the Labor Day parade last week.

624 CRyptonite had there first meeting yesterday, a week and a half into the school year. My son said it was short, but was basically to see how many new members they would have.

We're a fairly young team still (2013 will be our third year) and don't have enough money or space to do constant projects or meetings, but our introduction meeting was on August 30th and our first business meeting the 13th. From here on out we *should* be meeting twice a month with hopefully some form of build on one Saturday a month, and we have a few demos lined up as well.

Wayne-Westland Schools start the first Tuesday after Labor Day. The first meeting for returning members was that Wednesday and the first meeting for new members was the following week.

Mondays are the Executive Board Meetings, 1 Tuesday/two months is a parent/mentor meeting, Wednesdays are our 1st high school's meeting day (Wayne), and Thursdays are our 2nd high school's meeting day (Westland).

During Build season, Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri are all meeting days.
