New Feature - HyperRules

Looking for an easy way to link to a specific rule? I have just completed work on the HyperRules web site, which holds the complete set of rules from FIRST, including team updates when they are released. The complete system can be seen at http://www.creationsandkeepsakes.com/hyperrules/, but if you just want to link to a specific rule, Brandon has graciously added the following vB Code tag: [rule]

To use this to link to a specific rule, use the following syntax:

PHP Code:

[rule=gm15]This will link to GM15[/rule] 


Replace "gm15" with the rule number you want to link to, and "Link to Rule GM15" with the text you want in your link.

Unfortunately, at this time, you can only link to rules in the following sections using this format:
-Robot Rules Section 4 (K, M, C sections)
-Game Rules Section 9 (S, GM, SC, V, DA, DQ, T sections)

Functionality to link to any other section will be added in the near future. Enjoy!

I think he imported it into a database already.. I would hope he didn't type it all out. Although that would be a good way to learn it

@Ken: There's a 'search' box on there, too. Doesn't seem to return anything (unless I searched for something too vauge).

The search(yes Ken, there is one) is currently using a simple SQL LIKE clause in the query. I just implemented a notification system where it will log any searches which return zero results. I'll be keeping an eye on that log to see if I can notice a definite problem with the search logic, and adjust it as needed.

And no, I didn't type it all, but let's just say I've done a LOT of copying and pasting over the past few days...

Is there any way to make the link open a new window, like the normal links do? I was recently typing a response to a question on pneumatics, embeded the appropriate rule, and clicked "preview post". When I clicked the link to make sure I had chosen the correct rule, it openend in the same window, destroying everything I had typed.

Courtesy of Chief Delphi Forums, Hyperrules now has a "Discuss This Rule" option. Simply click the link when you're looking at the rule you want to talk about, and you will either start the new thread, or join the discussion already in place. Check it out!
