Go to Post Maybe FIRST could get a sponsorship from Ikea, and we all could get flat-packed field parts with pictoral assembly instructions. And then all the parts could have funny names. - sanddrag [more]

I find the selling wallspace a very interesting idea... I don't think it'd fly too well here in the US though, at least not where I live The best fundraiser we've ever had was hosting a post-season competition! We made a bit over $3,000. To the best of our knowledge, we're the only team to ever make a profit off of one.

We've hosted one for the past three years- and every year we make more and more money.. I believe most of it is from food sales..

Raffles are good, but only if you have something good to give away. Example: 330 used to be sponsored by DirecTV and they would donate satellite tv systems with a year subscription. That was a good raffle, because people were willing to buy thirty and forty dollars worth of tickets. Even people on the team and their families were buying tickets. Plus, since the goods to be raffled were donated, there was almost no out of pocket expenses.

My personal favorite fundraiser when i was on 330 was our garage sales. We would ask people from the school and from the community to donate goods, and we consistently made over a thousand dollars whenever we would have a garage sale. But after a couple years of having multiple garage sales, you begin to run out of stuff to sell.

Thumbs down

raffles are good but we did in the end of the year. it isn't goo doing this raffles in this time because everybody has a lot of bills and they doesn't have a lot of money to spend on raffles...

The raffle idea sounds great. Unfortunately raffles are considered "gambling", which is illegal at our school.
